Axaio MadeToPrint QuarkXPress

This configurator drives Axaio MadeToPrint XT auto for QuarkXPress. It is a processor that outputs PDF, PostScript or EPS from a QuarkXPress document according to specifications. The original document is not retained.

For the configurator to function correctly, QuarkXPress must be installed in addition to the MadeToPrint XTension, and MadeToPrint must be successfully loaded during the host application’s startup.

Refer to Version requirements for third-party applications for more information on the third-party application required by this configurator.

Detecting the application

This configurator implements the following mechanisms to detect the presence of the corresponding third-party application. See Detecting third-party applications for more information.

Detection mechanism

Comments

Automatic detection at startup

To detect the host application: uses information registered with the operating system when the application is installed

To detect the MadeToPrint plug-in: check for a folder that is created in a special location when the MadeToPrint user interface is first displayed

Searching from the elements pane

In addition to the above, searches the system applications folder for the application

Manually locating the executable

Select the path to the host application executable/bundle (not the plug-in)

Connections

This configurator allows only a single outgoing connection.

Properties

Property

Description

Name

The name of the flow element displayed in the canvas

MadeToPrint job name

The name of the MadeToPrint job or job set that specifies a particular set of output options; this name is selected from the list of current job names exported by MadeToPrint

(A job set is a sequence of one or more jobs defined in MadeToPrint and referenced by a single name)

Job folder output

When set to yes, the output file(s) are placed inside a job folder named for the incoming job; if you specify a job set in the previous property, there is a separate job folder – with the same name – for each job

When set to no, the output file(s) are all placed on the topmost level (i.e. each output file forms a Switch job on its own), even if you specify a job set in the previous property

In both cases, the individual filenames are under control of MadeToPrint; the MadeToPrint output path is not used here

Attach hierarchy info

Allows attaching the output path defined in the MadeToPrint job to the hierarchy location path for all output files or job folders; this allows using MadeToPrint tokens for creating hierarchy path segments which can be used later for creating subfolder hierarchies; see using hierarchy info for more details

Choices are:

  • No: do not attach hierarchy info

  • Add at the top: add the MadeToPrint output path segments at the top of the hierarchy location path

  • Add at the bottom: add the MadeToPrint output path segments at the bottom of the hierarchy location path

  • Replace: replace any existing hierarchy location path by the MadeToPrint output path

Define extra tokens

When set to yes, extra properties appear that allow defining up to five tokens for use in MadeToPrint’s token engine; this allows inserting dynamic values in the output (for example in the info bar)

To access these values in MadeToPrint, use the JOBTICKETMETADATA token with the name entered in one of the properties below as an argument; for example if you specify Name1 = “JobID” and Value1 = “J8935” then the MadeToPrint token JOBTICKETMETADATA(“JobID”) is replaced by “J8935”

Name 1-5

The name of the Nth token (or empty to leave this token undefined)

Value 1-5

The value of the Nth token

Use fonts in package

If set to yes, fonts included in the incoming job folder are used while processing or outputting the QuarkXPress document

This property is not implemented on Microsoft Windows (fonts included in the incoming job folder are never used, regardless of the property value)
