This configurator drives Markzware FlightCheck Professional. It is a processor that preflights a job (single file or job folder) in various application formats (including PDF). The job file itself flows along the “data” output connections, the preflight results flow along the “log” output connections.

If you are using Markzware FlightCheck Professional in demo or trial mode, the application displays a dialog upon startup, requiring a user to click the OK button. This prevents Switch from automatically launching the application. As a workaround, launch FlightCheck manually so that it is already running before you use it from within Switch.
This configurator supports any number of outgoing traffic-light connections.
Markzware FlightCheck Professional is designed to handle jobs that consist of multiple files linked from a single main file. In Switch all of these files are presented to the configurator in a job folder. Since Switch doesn’t know the job folder’s structure, and since FlightCheck supports many file types, locating the main file may be complicated.
This configurator offers various ways to locate the main file. In all cases, the user can limit the nesting level on which the main file may occur. The default is 1, which means that the main file is placed directly inside the job folder.
The default mechanism to locate the main file is called “Automatic”. It searches the main file levels (indicated by the previous property) and selects the first encountered file that has one of the types supported by FlightCheck (see the list below). So in effect it assumes that the main file levels contain only one file of these types.
|
File types recognized by "Automatic" |
|---|
|
QuarkXPress, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe InDesign, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint, Macromedia Freehand, Multi-Ad Creator, Corel Draw, PostScript, Encapsulated Postscript, Printer Postscript. |
Alternatively you can explicitly specify a file filter for locating the main file. In that case, the filter is matched against all files in the job folder up to the specified maximum nesting level, and the first file that matches is selected as the main file.
It is not possible to change FlightCheck’s FlightPlan “from the outside”. Therefore, when using this configurator, FlightCheck always uses the FlightPlan that is currently configured from the regular FlightCheck user interface.
