Callas pdfToolbox4 Profiles



This configurator drives callas pdfToolbox4. It allows to check and/or modify PDF files using pdfToolbox 4 Profiles. These can created and/or adapted with the pdfToolbox4 Plug-In or Standalone version. For more information we refer to the section "Use of kfpx profiles" in the Callas pdfToolboxF Reference guide.

Detecting the application

This configurator implements the following mechanisms to detect the presence of the corresponding third-party application. See Detecting third-party applications for more information.

Automatic detection at startup

Uses information registered with the operating system when the application is installed (Windows) or checks the default install location (Mac)

Searching from the elements pane

In addition to the above, searches the system program files/applications folder for the application

Manually locating the executable

Select the executable for the command-line version of the application

Connections

This configurator supports any number of outgoing traffic-light connections.

Properties

Property

Description

Name

The name of the flow element displayed in the canvas

Profile Group

The Group from which to select a Profile. Selecting a group is necessary to select a Profile using "Choose from Library"

Profile

Select the calllas pdfToolbox 4 Profile to be used. When using "Choose from Library", only the profiles available in the selected Profile Group will be listed.

Maximum hits per page

Defines the maximum amount of hits to be checked and reported per page

Maximum hits per document

Defines the maximum amount of documents to be checked and reported per page

Report Type

The format of the Report to be created. Choices include:


  • XML: an XML file that formally conforms to the XML schema installed with pdfToolbox Server 4

  • XSLT: an XSLT file that transforms the XSL report into another format like HTML or TXT

  • PDF Mask: the original PDF file with semi-transparent marks inserted on new layers to visually indicate preflight problems, combined with PDF comments

  • PDF comments: the original PDF file with comments inserted to indicate preflight problems

  • PDF Layer: the original PDF file with certain text, graphics and image objects separated on different layers; this is more than strictly a report format

  • Inventory: PDF document that provides statistics. Refer to the pdfInspektor manual for more information

Create Report If

Only generate a report under the following circumstances:


  • ALWAYS: always

  • ERROR: if at least one problem with severity ’Error’ was found

  • WARNING: if at least one problem with severity ’Warning’ was found

  • INFO: if at least one problem with severity ’Info’ was found

  • HIT: if any problem was found

  • NOHIT: if no problem was found

  • ERROR, WARNING: if at least one problem with severity ’Error’ or ’Warning’ was found

  • INFO, WARNING: if at least one problem with severity ’Info’ or ’Warning’ was found

Overview Page

Select Yes if you want to add an overview page to the report

Report Suffix

Define a suffix to be added to the resulting file name after a trailing underscore ( _ ). Leave empty for no suffix.

Additional Report Type

Allows to generate a secundary report

Report Language

The language to be used in the report

Embed XML Report as Metadata

Create an XML Report, and embed it as Metadata, using the defined Dataset name

Disable Fixups

If set to yes, all fixups defined in the pdfToolbox 4 Profile will be disabled.

Uncompress images

If set to "Yes", this option will uncompress images when checking. By default this option should be set to "No", since it is time consuming, and not needed for most checks. It might be needed in some cases, for example if you need to know wether pixels of an image defined in CMYK are just using the Black colorant when checking for grayscale images.

Define variables for dym. profiles

Allows to define variables and values to be used in dynamic pdfToolbox 4 Profiles. Please see the log after activating this option to see the possible variables for the selected profile.

Limit pagerange for checking

Limit the checking to a specific page range of the documents
