Setting up remount volume information

If your Switch is running on Mac OS X, you can make sure that volumes will be remounted if the network connection is interrupted.

To configure remount volume information

  1. In Switch, navigate to Edit > User Preferences > Remount volumes .
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the Volume remount information field and click .
    • Double-click the Volume remount information field.
    The property editor appears.
  3. Enter the following details:
    • Volume path: The complete network path identifying a volume that may have to be remounted by Switch.
    • User name: The user name to be used for remounting the volume (required field).
Note: Do not leave the user name empty! When closing the dialog, volumes without a user name are automatically removed if Show volume paths used by active flows is disabled (see step 4 of this procedure).
    • Password: The password to be used for remounting the volume.
  4. Select or clear the Show volume paths used by active flows checkbox as required:
    • If selected (default value), all volume paths currently in used by active flows will be added to the list of volumes to be remounted. If the volume path contains a user name, it is added automatically as well, but this is NOT the case for the password. You must add the password manually.
    • If cleared, all volume paths with an empty user name will be removed from the list.

Note that the state of this checkbox (enabled/disabled) is remembered between uses of the property editor and across Switch sessions.

  5. Click OK.
