The Database module is an advanced module that allows
read/write access to ODBC
datasets without the need for extensive scripting. With the database module, business or
job management software can be used in conjunction with Switch workflows to further automate
job decisions or build more business intelligence into your overall business environment.
An
active Database module license provides you access to:
- The ODBC data sources option in the User
preferences dialog (required to set up a database
connection).
- The Database
connect flow element (available in the Database category of the
Flow elements pane). This flow element allows you to configure certain settings in
databases without having to script them.
- Database
variables. This allows you to use any values from your database in
Switch.
