Switch preferences: Error handling

These preferences allow you to configure the way problems are handled in Switch.

Abort file transfers after (minutes)

Time in minutes. If an FTP or e-mail file transfer takes longer than this, it is considered crashed or locked up and it is aborted.

If the value is set to 0, the transfer will never be aborted.

Abort processes after (minutes)

Time in minutes. If a process other than a file transfer takes longer than this, it is considered crashed or locked-up and it is aborted.

If the value is set to 0, the transfer will never be aborted.

Retry mail transfers after (minutes)

Time interval in minutes. If a mail transfer fails, Switch tries again after the specified number of minutes.

If the value is set to 0, Switch stops trying. (not recommended)

Retry FTP transfers after (minutes)

Time interval in minutes. If an FTP transfer fails, Switch tries again after the specified number of minutes.

If the value is set to 0, Switch stops trying. (not recommended)

Retry unreachable folder after (minutes)

Time interval in minutes. If a folder cannot be reached, Switch tries again after the specified number of minutes.

If the value is set to 0, Switch stops trying. (not recommended)

Retry failed external processes after (minutes)

Time interval in minutes. If an external process fails, Switch tries again after the specified number of minutes.

If the value is set to 0, Switch stops trying. (in this case: the recommended value!)

Send crash reports If Switch crashes, a detailed crash report is generated automatically. This information is useful for Enfocus to improve its software. You can choose to:
  • Not send this information to Enfocus (Never).
  • Automatically send the crash reports to Enfocus (Always).
  • Have the user decide whether or not to send a crash report (Ask user).
