Flow properties

The following properties are displayed in the Properties pane, when you select a particular flow.

Property

Description

Name

The name of the flow as it is shown in the Flows pane.

Description

A description of, or comments about the flow; the text in this field may have multiple lines. The creation date and time are filled in automatically (but can be removed as required).

Background image

A PNG or JPG image to be shown in the background of the flow design.
  • The background image is placed at its effective resolution.
  • If the image is too small to fill the canvas, it is repeated (as tiles).
  • When the flow is not editable (because it is locked or active), the background image is darkened.

The background image is a kind of wallpaper on which the flow design is drawn. Light colors or sober patterns work best.

Header image

A PNG or JPG image to be shown in the upper-left corner of the flow design, on top of the background image.

  • The header image is placed at its effective resolution.
  • The header image is not repeated to fill the canvas.
  • When the flow is not editable, the header image is not darkened.

The header image is intended to mark a flow with a company or brand logo.

Small images work best (avoiding overlap with the actual flow design).

Allow advanced performance tuning

Performance settings are configured in the Switch Preferences (Switch preferences: Processing). They apply to all flows and all flow elements.

However, to improve the performance of a particular flow, you can overrule two default settings by enabling the Allowing advanced performance tuning option in the properties of that flow. As a result, all flow elements (used in that particular flow) that can process jobs concurrently, will have two additional properties that can be changed:
  • Number of slots : Number of slots available for concurrent processes.
  • Idle after job (secs) : Idle time-out after each job.
Time-of-day window If set to Yes, the flow will be active during a particular time of the day, as specified in the following properties (only available if Time-of-day window is enabled):
  • Allow from (hh:mm): Start time, for example: 09:00
  • Allow to (hh:mm): End time, for example: 11:00
Day-of-week window If set to Yes, the flow will be active during a couple of days of the week, as specified in the following properties (only available if Day-of-week window is enabled):
  • Allow from: Day of the week the flow will be activated, for example: Tuesday
  • Allow to: Day of the week the flow will deactivated, for example: Friday
Day-of-month window If set to Yes, the flow will be active during a particular day of the month, as specified in the following properties (only available if Day-of-month window is enabled):
  • Day: Day of the month during which to keep the flow active. Use a number between 1 and 31. For example, "1" (default) means the first or the last day of the month (depending on the value in Relative to).
  • Relative to: Choose between: Start/end of the month.
Note: If you have enabled the Time-of-day, Day-of-week or Day-of-month window, when activating the flow manually, it will be preceded by a small icon . This indicates that the flow is scheduled and will be active during the time specified in the Flow properties.
