Viewing log messages in a web browser (from within Designer)

As of Switch 13, the Messages button allows you to view your log messages in a web browser that is opened from within Switch Designer.

Note that it depends on your user preferences whether or not the connection is encrypted (https). See Switch preferences: Web service

To view the log messages in a web browser from within Switch Designer

  1. In Switch, do one of the following:
    • Click View > Messages .
    • Press F6.
    • Click the Messages button in the Switch toolbar.
The most recent log messages are displayed in your default web browser, with a maximum of 1000 messages in total. If the auto refresh option is turned on (in the top right corner of the screen), the list is automatically renewed.

A thin arrow in the column header indicates the current sort order (descending or ascending ).

A filter icon indicates that a filter has been set on the column concerned.

  2. In the banner at the top of the page, click Accept cookie to allow Switch to save your preferences. If you accept cookies, your preferences are saved when closing your browser, so you don't have to set them next time you log in. If you click Decline cookie, you can continue to work, but you will have to select e.g. your language again every time you log in in a new browser.
You can now sort the messages or filter out the messages you're interested in as required. Refer to Filtering log messages (web browser) or Sorting log messages (web browser).

For more information, also refer to The Messages overview (web browser) and Changing the language of the log messages (web browser).
